At Avocet Health Partners, we champion high-quality healthcare access for all—especially those often overlooked in the healthcare system. We strive to make this vision a reality by equipping institutions that serve marginalized populations with the knowledge, data, and tools to deliver exceptional care.
Through expert consulting rooted in equity, innovation, and clinical excellence, we help our clients develop and implement strategic solutions that improve health outcomes for the people they serve and, ultimately, the wider public.
Founded in memory of Dr. Brent Gibson's mother, Carolyn McConnell Gibson, and inspired by Saint Maximilian Kolbe, our work honors their legacies of compassion and courage. The avocet bird, a symbol of resilience and grace, embodies our commitment to navigating healthcare’s toughest challenges with empathy, precision, and purpose.

Brian Koehn’s three-decade career—spanning service in the U.S. Marine Corps, the Army, and institutional leadership—embodies Avocet’s core message: No One Left Behind. His military background and expertise in managing complex institutional environments form the foundation of his transformative approach, connecting the dignity of marginalized populations to the wellbeing of those who serve on the frontlines of public safety.
